Two people were critically injured and eight others suffered less severe injuries in a multi-vehicle pileup in Los Angeles last weekend. Pinned in a vehicle after the crash, one of the critically injured people had to have their car split apart by rescuers. When someone is pinned in their car, it is likely they have suffered serious personal injuries.

This severe of an accident is rare on the roads, but when multi-car pileups do happen, people often suffer at least some form of injury. Unfortunately, two people in this accident will likely have very long recoveries and rehabilitation. Although the cause of the accident is still unknown, car accidents are usually caused by one driver being negligent or distracted from the road.

The accident near Crenshaw boulevard and Vernon Avenue was so severe over 24 firefighters responded to the scene. One child was involved in the crash but was not critically injured.

Distracted drivers cause injury to other people, and they should be held responsible for their actions. Eating food from the nearest drive-thru or chatting on a cell phone is no excuse for negligent driving. The personal injuries suffered by these people could make for a long recovery potentially because someone was busy eating their French fries or gossiping with a friend.

Seeking advice from an experienced personal injury attorney, could help you recover damages incurred by medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering if you are involved in an accident where a negligent driver has injured you.
